FREE BEER! is an homage to both Tom Marioni’s mantra: that the act of drinking beer with friends is the highest form of art, and to the beer that made Milwaukee famous when Mr. Schlitz sent boatloads of free product to the thirsty victims of the great Chicago fire. – Conrad Bakker

The title of the show was quite literal. All the people who attended the opening at The Ski Club received one of the carved wooden beers shown on the table. When I was taking mine home, I kept it safe between my legs while I drove not thinking how I would explain it if I were to get pulled over.
